This seasonal arts series brings mobile, non-invasive programs to unexpected places along the shores of the White River, our city’s most vital water source. Through a holistic blend of creative expression and environmental stewardship, A Rising Tide helps facilitate revitalization efforts that highlight the river as a dynamic confluence for creativity, connection, and conservation.
A Rising Tide brings people together through art and environmental action. By clearing invasive species to create natural performance spaces, encouraging local ownership of riverside recreation areas, offering free ecological education events, urging city leaders to increase waterfront accessibility, and showcasing innovative local artists, the series creates opportunities for people to connect with the White River and surrounding areas. The series also integrates with existing restoration plans and creates arts-based jobs, contributing to the growth and sustainability of Indianapolis’ creative economy.
With an initial gift from Reconnecting to Our Waterways through the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust White River Fund, Indy Convergence purchased two outdoor stages, including one that will float on the river.
